So I don't get sound in flash in firefox these days and though I should fix it. So I updated to the news version of firefox and flash and now it doesn't work at all. Yey. |

So alec's xp broke so on his other hd i installed linux but his video is closed source.
tried to get my palm pilot working under linux but it was easier to just do it under windows, though my windows partion is broken on my machine so i had to use my fathers.
When I updated X it broke everything and spent hours trying to fix it, ended up just booting into an older kernel and things are working again.
Saw Narnia last night which I wasn't really interested in seeing but a girl who likes me did, and we eventally kissed for the first time and saw the movie and then talked for an hour afterwards about phil and stuff. I must admit the talking of high level stuff is what I've believed to be missing from many of my past relationships.
Also got a call on monday for a job that neither my mother nor myself applied for. They probally got my name off of monster.com, it's doing data entry for the tax season the job starts jan 2. was gona go get finger printed and back ground checked on wed but it was icy so they reschduled me for monday. (well it is IRS tax stuff)
Anyway both finals are on tuesday which I really don't like, no less their
one right after another (hour lunch). None the less I think I know a lto of the material and studing should be easy. I'm looking forward to getting them done. |

Theorem: All numbers are equal.
Proof: Choose arbitrary a and b, and let t = a + b. Then
1. a + b = t
2. (a + b)(a - b) = t(a - b)
3. a^2 - b^2 = ta - tb
4. a^2 - ta = b^2 - tb
5. a^2 - ta + (t^2)/4 = b^2 - tb + (t^2)/4
6. (a - t/2)^2 = (b - t/2)^2
7. a - t/2 = b - t/2
8. a = b
So all numbers are the same, and math is pointless.
Alright so I can't figure this out, I mean I can see the divide by 0 but I can't figure out how it works. Also the square root things are weird. and I can't see how line lines 5 gets to line 6. Naomi? Joel? |

I went to a temp aggency this week and took a few tests of my skills.
Keypad: 9750 ks/h
Adjusted Typing Speed: 10170 ks/h
DOS 6: 58%
Linux Administration: 59%
Excel: 80%
Word: 90%
Unix Administration: 68%
Unix User: 72%
Conclusions:
I'm about as compentent a user of unix as an admin. I know Word better than Excel. And I type faster using the whole keyboard as oppsed to just the num pad. And of course I'm better at UNIX which I haven't used since I was 16, than Linux, which I've been using for the past 5 Years.
Anyway I had a really good interview on wed and homefully I'll get the job. It's a place that works for state farm. I'll be calling up people in california who have state farm and making sure their information is correct or perhaps asking to do a servey as to how they like their insurance. So it's not as good as the law office where everyone I call wanted to talk to me all afternoon and would promise me their first born if I asked for it. But atleast it isn't calling up people who don't want to pay their bills. It's kind of a nice medium. |
